Ashraf has worked previously as a stringer for Reuters and Anadolu Agency.
His work has been featured in Al-Jazeera, NRC, Trouw, Mail & Guardian, News24, The Daily Maverick and numerous other local news agencies.
Some of his most recent works have focused on wildlife trafficking, climate change and issues around activism and social justice.
